Health Center Summit Recap

What a great event in Orlando! There was a great turnout of about 500 attendees, and we enjoyed seeing many of you there. eClinicalWorks now serves 800+ Health Centers, having gained 59 new health centers in 2017, and 10 so far this year. Many were an EHR switch from another vendor. If you weren’t able to make it to the Summit, we’ve pulled together a recap so you can stay up to date with the latest news.

  • SOAPWare → Closed
  • Practice Fusion → Allscripts
  • McKesson → Allscripts
  • GE and Semens → Neither are in the space any longer
  • Aletha Health → Proposed to be acquired

HIMSS Davis Winner

The HIMSS Davis Winner for 2017 is Pataluma Health Center for effective responses to public health crisis following the wildfires in Northern California and improving hypertension control among its patient with eClinicalWorks. You can read more about the award here.


V11 has experienced significant enhancements over the last 3 years, including:

  • Development to IOS in V11 – should reflect significant performance improvement
  • Platform agnostic, HTML 5 User Interface
  • Cost of hardware will continue to drop which reduces the cost of ownership

EVA: eCW’s virtual assistant for clinicians 

The industry’s first virtual assistant, Eva gives clinicians a powerful tool at the point of care. Providers can ask Eva to show a patient’s Progress Note, flowsheet, or account balance. Eva will recall patient histories, let providers compare current and past Progress Notes in side-by-side windows, book appointments, and even view educational videos and other resources — all without losing context or interrupting workflows.  Read the full article here.

30 other Smart Forms are available, and goals can be carried over from one visit to the next, including their status, due dates, and notes.

Dental:  it’s time to switch

eCW Dental is now part of eCW Product, no need for third party integrations! This addition provides a complete solution for your health center. You can now schedule with the ability to set Provider, Assistant, and Chair Time. It also features:

  • Progress Note:  medication and history information will be visible
  • Exam:  Ability to set Actions, i.e. all primary; all permanent
    • Select tooth, set action
    • Movement -/+
    • Quick Buttons with ability for combination surfaces
  • Treatment Plan:  Appointment duration at CPT Level
  • Complete the treatment and be able to bill the procedures
