Company to provide St. Luke’s 24 area locations with unified electronic medical records and health information exchange systems
August 20, 2011: St. Louis, MO – In 2011, more doctors, medical groups and hospitals will be working towards achieving Meaningful Use and will turn to Electronic Health Record (EHR) providers who meet the established criteria and have a proven track record for successful implementation. Such is the case for St. Luke’s Medical Group who recently chose Curas, a St. Louis-based health information technology consulting company, to assist in the implementation of the eClinicalWorks EHR solution at its 24 medical practices. To date, Curas has implemented eClinicalWorks for over 70 physicians within St. Luke’s medical group and over 700 providers nationwide.
As part of the St. Luke’s EHR implementation, Curas will also deploy eClinicalWorks Electronic Health eXchange (eEHX®), a health information exchange (HIE). The system will electronically connect the St. Luke’s community of physicians and allow for records sharing in all St. Luke’s facilities. This greatly improves access to patients’ health information, allows for more effective exchange of data throughout the St. Luke’s campuses, and facilitates the availability of global data and information.
With the eClinicalWorks suite of products, Curas helps physicians modernize their practices by taking advantage of new technologies that allow for electronically shared medical records, laboratory results and diagnostic imaging reports. eClinicalWorks is one of the leading EHR products to receive the 2011/2012 ONC-ATCB Complete EHR certification which is required to qualify for Meaningful Use under the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act. Meeting this requirement was a key factor in the selection process for St. Luke’s.
“St. Luke’s is one of the top healthcare providers in the region with a commitment to improving the health of the St. Louis community,” said Num Pisutha-Arnond, Managing Partner at Curas. “With the addition of eClinicalWorks and an HIE system, physicians in St. Luke’s network strengthen their dedication to providing patient-centered care.”
In 2011, for the second year in a row, Curas was named the top U.S. reseller of eClinicalWorks, an established leader in unified, ambulatory electronic medical records and practice management solutions which enables physicians to manage patient flow from check-in to check-out and streamlines their practice to improve efficiency, increase revenue, decrease medical errors, while allowing more focus on patient care. Curas offers a full range of eClinicalWorks services including certified specialists who assist practices with training end users, workflow consulting, support, installation, data migration, and custom reporting. The company also maintains its own call center which provides support to physicians with a guaranteed two hour response time. Curas enjoys a 99% success rating in its eClinicalWorks implementations, while industry-wide the estimate hovers at 27%.
