Curas Implements and Supports eHub to Improve Patient Care in Hawaii

February 19, 2012:  St. Louis, MO — In a relationship that first began in 2011, Curas has worked with Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, LLP to streamline and improve the process of interfacing electronic health records, allowing practices to send lab orders and receive results electronically. Curas, a St. Louis-based firm, implemented a local eHub in Hawaii and provides ongoing support to create a direct line of communication between practices and CLH.

“Due to the increase in the number of requests from Hawaii physicians for eClinicalWorks interfaces, Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii has established a local eHub with Curas,” said Michelle Cox, Director of Business Development for Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii. “The eHub has decreased the set-up time for interfaces while improving real time transmission and quality of data. Overall, our relationship with Curas has been a win-win and has allowed us to assist our physicians in providing patients the best care possible.”

Curas works with Hawaii practices to guide and improve the process of interfacing EHR/EMR systems with CLH. The local eHub allows CLH and Curas to interface directly with an EHR system and provide practices with local support.  Having local, timely support has been a benefit to both Hawaii practices and CLH.

“Curas streamlined implementation and shortened the amount of time it takes to interface EHR with Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii,” said Num Pisutha-Arnond, Managing Partner of Curas. “By making this process easier, practices can focus on what matters most — patient care.”

Curas was named as a prequalified eClinicalWorks vendor for Hawaii Pacific REC physician clients in 2011 after entering into a federally funded Regional Extension Center (REC) contract to provide them with implementation and support for EHR systems. Curas was named the preferred eClinicalWorks vendor for the state of Hawaii and now staffs a full-time office within the state that serves over 37 practices.
